The mission of the Aviation Weather Division is to identify and reaffirm the needs of the flying public, safety managers, and FAA weather providers through:
- Promulgating core system requirements;
- Formulation and articulating FAA's aviation weather policies;
- Satisfying all specialized aviation weather needs;
- Supporting advancement of aviation weather technologies; and
- Establishing inter-agency cooperation and coordination.
