Susan Hedenberg,
Acting Manager.
Susan was a commercial pilot for 2 years before starting
with the FAA in the late 70s. She was an Air Traffic Control Specialist at the
Peoria Airport Control Tower until 1990, after which she went to the Dallas Fort Worth
TRACON as a radar controller and Quality Assurance Specialist. Susan came to Washington
Headquarters in 1995 as a requirements specialist for voice switches and recorders.
In 1996 she was promoted to Integrated Product Team Lead, and became Acting Manager of
ARN-300 in March, 1999. |

Rob Anderson
Rob (Rooney) started with the FAA in
March of 1992 as a controller at the Baton Rouge Air Traffic Control Tower after spending
nearly nine years in the United States Air Force doing a similar job. In 1984 Rob
transferred to the Dallas Fort Worth TRACON and remained there for 10 years, working as a
controller and union representative. He then spent a year at the William J. Hughes
Technical Center, working on the Center Terminal Automation System (CTAS), after which he
moved to Washington headquarters. Rob is currently involved with the Precision
Runway Monitoring System (PRM) as the Requirements Team Lead, LAAS, and Safe Flight 20. |

Fred Bias, APML
Fred came to the FAA in 1990 after a 20 year
career in the US Navy, where he provided logistics for such platforms as the P3, A6,
and T-45 aircraft, and the Presidential Helicopters. Within the FAA, he worked on
the Oceanic Display and Planning System (ODAPS), Traffic Management System (TMS), Conflict
Resolution Advisory (CRA), ATCT/TRACON Establishment, Replacement, and Modernization,
Aeronautical Data-Link, Remote Maintenance Monitoring System (RMMS), Large Airport Cable
Loop Systems, Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the Southern California TRACON (SCT), and was
the Project Lead for the Environmental Remote Monitoring System. He was the
Logistics Product Lead in support of NIMS and is currently working on ICMM. |

Les Brown,
RTL
Les has been employed by the FAA since 1969. He served as an Air
Traffic Control Specialist, Training Specialist, Traffic Management Specialist, Automation
Specialist, Area Supervisor, and Assistant Manager for Automation in Miami Air Route
Traffic Control Center, and Assistant Manager for Quality Assurance at Washington Air
Route Traffic Control Center. In 1992 he was assigned to Washington Headquarters as the
Manager, Advanced Systems, ATZ-110. He has been employed as an Integrated Product
Team Lead since 1996, and worked on the NAS Infrastructure Management System IPT, and as
the ARS requirements lead for Information Security. He was Acting Manager of ARN-300
from October, 1998 to March, 1999. Les has an Associate Degree in Aeronautical
Engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical Institute. |

Beau Crosby,
APML
Beau is a graduate of the United States Air Force
Academy, earning a degree in Political Science in 1967. He also earned a Master of
Science degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1974.
He resigned his regular Air Force commission in 1980 but was recalled to active duty in
1988 and served 9 more years on the Air Force staff as a logician in the Pentagon. Beau
was awarded the Bronze Star in Vietnam. He has been associated with the FAA since
1997, working as a logician. |

Walter Knof, RTL
Walter has been with the FAA since 1973 and an Air
Traffic Control Specialist since 1966. He has served as a supervisor in Air Traffic
Control Towers as well as TRACONS, and was the Manager of the Groton Airport Traffic
Control Tower . After Groton, Walter served in the New England Regional
Headquarters, then became the Assistant Air Traffic Manager at Bradley International
Airport. He transferred to the FAA's Washington Headquarters in 1995 and worked as a
requirements specialist in the Facilities area, and is currently the IPT Lead for
Infrastructure. |

Nora Maynard,
RTL
Nora was an air traffic controller with the United States
Navy for eight years. After leaving the Navy, she joined the FAA in 1988 and was assigned
to the Greater Cincinnati Airport Traffic Control Tower. She remained there until 1991,
and then transferred to the Orlando Airport Traffic Control Tower. While in Orlando, she
was a Plans and Procedures Specialist. In 1993, Nora came to the FAA's National
Headquarters and worked on the Terminal Advanced Automations System until transitioning to
the STARS program in 1994. She is currently the Terminal Surveillance Integrated
Product Team Lead. |

Chuck Parry,
APML
Chuck came to the FAA in 1992 after a military career of
over 20 years with the United States Navy, where he served in various supervisory and
Logistics Management roles. He has worked on the ACEPS, Engine Generator and UPS projects,
and currently serves as the Logistics Product Lead in support of all Power Systems. |

Rob Paul, RTL
Rob retired from the US Air Force after serving 22 years
in a variety of air traffic control positions. He served as the US Air Forces Air
Traffic Liaison in Paris, France, as an Air Traffic Manager, Assistant Air Traffic
Manager, and Assistant Manager for Plans and Programs, Procedures, Quality Assurance,
Training, and as an Area Supervisor. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Air Traffic
Control. Rob began work with the FAA in August of 1989 as a specialist in Military
Operations, and in March of 1991, transferred to the Air Traffic Requirements Service
(ATR) organization. As a specialist in ATR, Rob worked on all of the en route and
secondary surveillance products, and was a natural selection for promotion as the ATS
Product Team Lead in March of 1996. Today, Rob continues with ARS as the ATS Team Lead for
En Route and Secondary Surveillance Product to the Surveillance IPT. |

Scott Schlegel,
APML
Scott joined the FAA in October 1995 after serving 8
years with the Naval Air Systems Command as an APML for major weapon and aircrew
systems. Scott is currently serving as the APML for Secondary Surveillance Radar
Systems (Beacons) and manages the logistics programs for the ATCBI-6, Mode-S and PRM
programs. Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, a Master of
Arts degree in Financial Management and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and
Investments. |

John Shea,
Requirements Lead
John began his FAA Career in 1986 as Facilities and
Equipment field engineer in the Western-Pacific region. He served as a Project
Engineer from 1989 to 1991 working on various Automated Flight Service Station and
Tower/TRACON modernization projects, including the Southern California TRACON. In
1991, John became the Regional Associate Program Manager for terminal automation, flight
service, and weather. He transferred to the Requirements and Life-Cycle Management
Directorate in 1995, and is currently the requirements lead for the NAS Infrastructure
Management System (NIMS). John has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical
Engineering from the University of Hartford. |

Dave Waits, APML
Dave is retired from the US Army where he served 18 years
as a logician. After retirement, he worked as a logician for a logistics engineering
company in the Washington are before joining the FAA in 1993. Since then he has
served as the logistics lead for various R&D programs such as the Center TRACON
Automation System (CTAS), Surface Movement Advisor (SMA), and others in the Office of Air
Traffic Systems Development. He now provides logistics management for surveillance
products for the Office of Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance Systems (AND). |

Tim Wallace,
APMR
Tim Wallace currently serves as the ATS requirements
specialist on a number of surveillance programs including ASR-11, WSP, AMASS, and others.
He started government service in the US Army, where he maintained Air Traffic Control
equipment from 1987-1991. He left the Army and worked for the FAA at Dulles International
Airport from 1991-1996 as a radar/arts technician and started working at FAA Headquarters
as an Electronics Engineer in 1996. He is currently an Associate Program Manager for
Requirements. |

George White,
APML
Since joining the FAA in 1995, George has served as a
logistics lead for various product teams. His current assignments span the FAA's
Acquisition Management System (AMS) life cycle from Mission Analysis (ARSR
decommissioning) and Solution Implementation (Enhanced Traffic Management System
replacement), to In-Service Management (ARSR-4). He has served as Associate Program
Manager for Logistics (APML) for the TDWR and NEXRAD weather radars. From 1983 through
1995, he also served as an APML in the US Navy. George has bachelors degree in Business
Administration from Widener University and a masters degree in Systems Management from
Florida Institute of Technology. |
