National Simulator Program
The primary function of an SQMS is to improve the consistency of providing Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD) that meet FAA qualification requirements for credible flight crewmember training, evaluation, or meeting flight experience. The design and content of an SQMS will reflect, and be specific to, each sponsor's method of operation.
The SQMS Documents, below, provide a systematic method for the development and implementation of an SQMS program. In order to qualify for NSPM Approval/Acceptance, an SQMS must satisfy the elements and requirements specified in the applicable documents for that program level.
- Two program levels are available:
- The Basic program satisfies Part 60 requirements (14 CFR section 60.5 Quality Management System and Appendix E.)
- The voluntary Basic-Expanded program is more comprehensive in scope and provides the basis for FSTD Extended Evaluation Interval (EEI) authorization.
