David Weingart

Chief of Staff

David Weingart became the FAA's Chief of Staff in February 2010. In that role, he advises and assists the Administrator and other senior agency officials on the overall management of the agency. Previously, he had been Special Assistant to the Administrator and Special Assistant to the Deputy Administrator.

David joined FAA in September 2004 as an economist in the Office of Aviation Policy and Plans. In that role, he was heavily involved with the economic and policy analysis for FAA's reauthorization efforts.

Prior to coming to the FAA, David worked for six years for Northwest Airlines in St. Paul, Minnesota in various Finance positions.

David grew up in Central Massachusetts, and received his B.A. in economics from Yale University in 1998. He lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife, Katherine, and daughter.
