Service Area for Part 121 Operations (PDF)
Visit the DuPage FSDO for General Aviation Information

The Chicago O’Hare FSDO’s district covers the northern half of the state of Illinois. Our office is located next to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD), one of the world’s busiest airports. We are dedicated to promoting safety in air transportation, by encouraging the highest operations safety standards.

This office is divided in two units: a certificate management unit and a geographic air carrier unit. The certificate management unit holds the certificate for Air Wisconsin Airlines, doing business as United Express, as well as several Part 145 repair stations.

The geographic unit performs surveillance on over 40 domestic air operators and over 25 foreign air operators at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Chicago Midway Airway (MDW), Rockford (RFD), and Quad Cities Airport (MLI), IL airports.

Under the FAA’s Air Transportation Oversight System (ATOS), our inspectors have geographic responsibility for American, Continental, Delta, Skywest, Southwest and United Airlines.

Our office also inspects air agencies and designated airmen, and conducts accident and incident investigations.
