The Ethics Staff manages the FAA's agency-wide Ethics Program, which includes financial disclosure and ethical conduct training. The Ethics Program is the only program for which the Chief Counsel has direct responsibility within the FAA. The Program is required by law and helps to impliment standards mandated by the Office of Government Ethics (OGE), an independent federal agency. The Deputy General Counsel of the Department of Transportation is the Department's Designated Agency Ethics Officer (DAEO), a position required by OGE regulation. The FAA's Chief Counsel is the Department's Deputy Ethics Officer for the FAA and the duties of that position have been delegated to the Deputy Chief Counsel for Policy and Adjudication.
