The FAA invests in excess of $3.2 billion annually on information systems and information technology (IT) services, representing the largest cost category in the agency's budget after personnel. Currently, the agency is acquiring, developing, and/or operating more than 400 information services and information systems, which enable the organization to carry out virtually all business functions. The CIO organization, in partnership with the other business units, is committed to promoting and facilitating the optimization of IT resources and exercising solid stewardship of the agency's IT enterprise.
