Sheila F. Smallwood is the Manager of the Laboratory Services Division at the Federal Aviation Administration's William J. Hughes Technical Center. She leads an organization of over 160 employees that provide the FAA's National Airspace System (NAS) laboratories. These world-class laboratories are used for research, engineering, development, test, evaluation, and maintenance of air navigation, air traffic management, and future air transportation systems.
Sheila has over 28 years of technical expertise in the aviation industry, 15 of those years in management. She possesses extensive knowledge in verification and validation, system analysis, and management of Air Traffic Control laboratories.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Central State University and a master's degree in Management from Thomas Edison State College.
