You Can Become an AVSED Counselor!
Role of FAA AVSED Counselor is to:
- Present the face of the FAA to the public
- Support the Agency's vision, mission and values
- Encourage students to explore aviation and aerospace career opportunities
- Emphasize FAA's responsiveness to national and aviation security challenges
- Encourage STEM studies
Many FAA employees volunteer their time and talent to become AVSED ambassadors because it:
- Helps them become involved in their own communities
- Allows them to share their passion for aviation with others
- Feels good to give back to society
- Provides opportunities for public speaking
- Helps support our FAA Flight plan initiative
- Provides an opportunity to share expertise with the younger generation
- Gets them out of their "cubicle"
- Feels good to know you are working to "make a difference" in our future workforce
- Provides inspiration and motivation to young people
- Allows them to serve as role models
- Helps to educate the general public about the FAA mission
