Nan Shellabarger is Executive Director for Policy and Plans at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, she is responsible for setting direction and overseeing operations for FAA's Policy organization. This office is responsible for providing economic and policy analysis and planning services for issues that cover the entire FAA.
She joined FAA in 1997 as the Manager of the Planning Analysis Division, where she had direct responsibility for facilitating agency-wide strategic planning, developing long range aviation forecasts, and analyzing airline delays. Prior to joining FAA she worked at United Airlines at their headquarters in Chicago for 13 years, holding a variety of financial management and operations research positions. She has also worked in the steel industry as a cost and financial analyst.
She holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Michigan, as well as a private pilot certificate with an instrument rating.
