The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) held an Industry Day for the CLEEN II solicitation on December 3, 2013 at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center. Under NextGen, the FAA initiated the Continuous Lower Energy, Emissions and Noise (CLEEN) Program in 2010 to accelerate development and commercialization of aircraft technology and sustainable alternative jet fuels to mitigate aviation's impact on the environment. The Agency is seeking to establish a follow on program from the original CLEEN Program. This follow-on program is referred to as CLEEN II. CLEEN II, like CLEEN, would be a public-private partnership, in which the FAA and industry cost-share maturation and demonstration of promising aircraft technologies.
The CLEEN II Industry Day provided an opportunity for those interested in potentially submitting proposals to the CLEEN II Screening Information Request (SIR) to hear about our plans for CLEEN II and the SIR, to ask questions, and provide feedback. The Industry Day included an open session and Q&A, as well as a limited number of sessions for one-on-one discussions with us.
