Mamie Mallory was appointed Director of Aviation Logistics Organization for Regions and Center in May 2008. As the Director, Mallory leads and integrates logistics initiatives and real property management issues in support of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DOT). She provides cross-organizational leadership to ensure that logistics programs supported by various lines of business are efficiently managed, responsive to customer needs, and delivered on time. She also leads DOT and FAA real property management efforts in coordination with the Office of Management and Budget and the DOT Assistant Secretary for Administration. Additionally, Mallory provides oversight of the FAA’s corporate building and administrative space requests including facilities management, building renovation, and repairs.
Prior to her current position, Mallory participated in the ATO Senior Leadership Development Program where she was detailed acting Staff Manager, Terminal Operations Washington District. She also held a collateral assignment as Managing Director of Project Aerospace with the Organization of Black Airline Pilots. Project Aerospace exposes youth to careers in aviation to create the next generation of aerospace professionals.
Other career assignments include acting Manager, ATO Performance Measures Division and acting Deputy Director, Operational Evolution Plan staff (OEP). As acting Deputy Director of the OEP, she managed the day-to-day staff responsibilities for implementing the agency's portion of the aviation community commitment to improve the National Airspace System leading to gains in capacity and efficiency.
Prior to the OEP, Mallory served as Manager, Resource and Financial Management for the Free Flight Program Office. In this post, she had oversight of a $500 million budget and responsibility for human resources, financial, facility, and information management functions.
She holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a Professional Certificate in Facility Management from George Mason University. Mallory also is a graduate of the Office of the Personnel Management’s Federal Executive Institute, Executive Potential Program, and inductee of the 2008 Leadership Greater Washington.
