Lindy Ritz was named Director of the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center on January 5, 1997. The Aeronautical Center is home to over 5,200 Federal and contract employees with an operational budget of $885 million annually.
Prior to serving as Director, Lindy was the Deputy Director of the Aeronautical Center. She also served as Deputy Director of Aviation Systems Standards, as well as Deputy Director of the FAA Logistics Center and Manager, Human Resource Management Division, at the Aeronautical Center. She has been with the FAA since 1979.
Lindy is a Charter Member of Leadership Oklahoma and serves on boards of civic organizations such as: Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, Mercy Health Center, and Kirkpatrick Science and Air Space Museum. She is a member of the Oklahoma International Women’s Forum, University of Oklahoma’s Aviation Advisory Council, and Oklahoma State University’s Aviation Advisory Council. She has received numerous leadership awards, including: DOT Secretary’s Award for Meritorious Achievement, DOT Secretary’s Award for Partnering Excellence, Leadership Oklahoma’s Distinguished Graduate, Delta Gamma’s National Oxford Award for Excellence in Professional Life and Voluntary Service, Distinguished Leadership Award from the Community Leadership Association, National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employee’s President’s Award, Byliners Award by the Oklahoma City Professional Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications, Girls Scouts-Red Lands Council Woman of Distinction, and University of Oklahoma’s Regents’ Award.
Lindy received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma and her Master’s Degree in Aviation and Space Science from Oklahoma State University. She and her husband, John, reside in Norman, Oklahoma.
