National Park Specific Air Tour Management Plans
Petrified Forest National Park, AZ
The ATMP process for this park was originally has just been initiated back in April 2010. In a Federal Register (PDF) published April 29, 2013, the FAA and NPS announced the termination of the preparation of the ATMP and environmental assessment for Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona. The FAA and NPS have stopped this work based upon a provision included in the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 that exempted parks with 50 or fewer annual commercial air tour operations from the provisions of NPATMA.
A kick off meeting for the ATMP process was held at the park on April 22, 2010.

The FAA published a Notice of Intent (NOI) in the Federal Register on July 1, 2010 (see below) to Prepare an Environmental Assessment and Request Public Scoping Comments for the Petrified Forest ATMP. Comments must be submitted by August 2, 2010. Additional information is provided in the public scoping information packet below
