GLOBALSTAR 6 / Delta II

The Boeing Company launched a Delta II launch vehicle on August 17, 1999, at 12:37 a.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida, which carried four GLOBALSTAR satellites to low earth orbit. This was the sixth GLOBALSTAR mission launched on a Delta. GLOBALSTAR telecommunication service will be delivered through a 48-satellite LEO constellation. GLOBALSTAR has already successfully launched a total of 36 satellites on nine launch vehicles, six Delta II and three Soyuz rockets.
