Operation Raincheck - NextGen

Program Overview

In September, 2008, Chicago Center identified the need to implement proactive communications, education, media and public outreach strategies and practices in its strategic planning process for FY2009. In response to this need, Operation Raincheck-NextGen was developed by a Chicago Center workgroup. The program is designed to familiarize the local aviation community with the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center and give attendees a close-up look at how operations at ATC facilities are conducted. This program is accredited for the FAA sponsored WINGS Currency and Proficiency Awards Program.
