FAA will accept either FAA Form 7233-1, Flight Plan (NAS FP) or FAA Form 7233-4, International Flight Plan.
Domestic Flights that do not desire assignment of RNAV Routes FAA Form 7233-1 may be filed if assignment of RNAV routes is not desired.
Operators have the option of filing either a NAS FP or an ICAO FPL, but only those filing ICAO FPLs (FAA form 7233-4) ,will be eligible for Area Navigation (RNAV) arrival and/or departure procedures within U.S. Domestic Airspace, including:
Although operators filing NAS FPs are no longer eligible for RNAV departure/arrival procedures, they will continue to be eligible for assignment of conventional (non-RNAV) procedures.
Note: Operators filing a NAS FP should comply with instructions in FAA Order 7210.3, Part 2, Chapter 6, Section 6, Air Carrier Computer Interface Program.
