Aeronautical Information Management (AIM)

The AIM group is the authoritative government source for collecting, validating, storing, maintaining and disseminating aeronautical data concerning the United States and its territories to support real-time aviation activities. AIM meets air transportation’s demand for increased capacity, efficiency and predictability in the airspace, routes, and airports of the National Airspace System (NAS) while ensuring that safety factors and environmental regulations are diligently satisfied. Services provided by the AIM include:
- Requirements and specifications for aeronautical information development and distribution
- Collecting, integrating, quality checking and reconciling aeronautical information provided from multiple aeronautical data providers and developers.
- Primary configuration managed source of aeronautical information and products to customers

Key Programs:
- NOTAM Distribution Program (NDP) - facilitates the automation, dissemination and receipt acknowledgement of NOTAM messages in the Terminal and En Route domains.
- NAIMES - provides highly reliable, scalable, and secure aeronautical information data services to users and access to critical data products and services to customers and stakeholders.
- MILOPS - utilizes advanced web-based technology to provide the NAS users and planners with near real-time information as to the Special Use Airspace.
