Airspace and Rules
The Airspace and Rules Division is the principal element within the Air Traffic Airspace Management Program responsible for formulating regulatory policy related to the National Airspace System. As such, this division develops rules, policy, and standards for the utilization of the navigable airspace; and conducts reviews and analyses of the potential effect of construction or alteration of civil and military airports, proposed changes in airspace allocation, and proposed /existing surface structures, on the safe and efficient use of the navigable airspace.

The Obstruction Evaluation Petitions Process (About the Discretionary Review Process) If you would like a determination to be reviewed, you must submit a petition for discretionary review to the FAA. Petitions must be submitted to the Airspace and Rules Group via mail, or facsimile.
