Proponent:  University of Purdue, Chemistry Department
Location: 71º 20' 12" N lat. 156º 38' 42" W long. (NAD83) see chart above; approximately 3 miles north at the 5 DME point on the VOR/DME RWY 24 approach course.
Altitudes: Surface up to and including 1,000 feet above ground level (AGL).
Times: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm; January 2, 2005 thru May 31, 2005.
Weather Requirements: Cloud ceiling (bases of the clouds) as reported by the Wiley Post-Will Rogers Memorial Airport Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS), shall be not lower than 1,000 feet AGL and at all times at least 500 feet above the height of the Moored Balloon.
Surface Visibility: At least 5 miles during balloon operations.
Clouds: No Balloon operations within 2,000 ft horizontally of clouds at any time.
Balloon: Length 43 feet, height: 14 feet. The body is red in color; picture below
NOTAMs: Barrow Flight Service Station (FSS) or Fairbanks Automated FSS (AFSS)
