The System Wide Information Management (SWIM) Program is a National Airspace System (NAS)-wide information system that supports Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) goals.
SWIM facilitates the data sharing requirements for NextGen and improves the way we create and leverage new and existing systems in the NAS. SWIM enables increased common situational awareness and improved NAS agility to deliver the right information to the right people at the right time. SWIM enables the discoverability of information, while making it easier and less costly to share knowledge.
SWIM development is a collaborative effort among varied stakeholders, all of whom are encouraged to follow SWIM progress on this site and review SWIM documentation as it is posted here. For additional information we encourage you to visit the FAAs NextGen site (www.faa.gov/nextgen).
