Important!! Mandatory new procedure effective immediately for users of the hard-copy version of FAA Form 8500-8.
Recent revisions to the Privacy Act Statement have made the existing statement on the hard-copy version of FAA Form 8500-8 obsolete. Beginning
immediately, your office must download the new Privacy Act Statement from the pdf linked below and provide a copy to all applicants using the paper
version of FAA Form 8500-8. MedXPress has already been upgraded with the new Privacy Act Statement and no further action on your part is required.
Look for further explanation regarding this matter in an upcoming edition of the Federal Air Surgeon’s Bulletin.

To ensure continued security and integrity of your aviator's medical certification information on the FAA AMCS web based system, it is critical that only
current authorized users from your office have valid AMCS accounts. It is
your responsibility to notify the AMCS Online Support help desk
at (405) 954-3238 if staff changes have occurred for individuals with AMCS privileges and their employment status no longer requires AMCS access.
Attention all Aviation Medical Examiners
Please remind your airmen they must carry their Authorization Letter at all times while exercising their pilot's license privileges. The Authorization Letter must be in the possession of the airman or be readily available in the aircraft. Airmen must present this Authorization to you at the time of each FAA medical application.
