Manager, Flight Technologies and Procedures Division

The Flight Technologies and Procedures Division is responsible for a variety of flight technology products and services, including:

  • Instrument flight operations procedures, and standards
  • Safety and oversight for communications, navigation, surveillance, and new technology
  • National airspace system plans, research, engineering, and development
  • Human factors

We also work together with our internal and external customers to implement major flight technology projects, including:

  • Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B)
  • Data Communications (DataComm)
  • Enhanced Flight Vision Systems (EFVS)
  • Performance Based Navigation (PBN)

Providing the aviation community with tangible benefits, based upon the implementation of these new technologies, is the cornerstone of our mission.
