Flight Information Services Data Link
FAA is implementing, through agreements with two industry vendors, a VHF data-link service for the broadcast of weather and operational data. This service is called Flight Information Services Data Link (FISDL).
As part of that implementation, the February 24, 2000 revision to the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) includes a paragraph describing FISDL, its operational use, and the use of other Flight Information Services (FIS) systems.
