Flight Operations Simulation and Analysis Branch-Closely Spaced Parallel Operations (CSPO)
CSPO exists to facilitate initiatives identified by the JPDO Low Visibility Approach, Departure and Taxi Working Group. The JPDO is working to accelerate NextGen initiatives wherever possible. To accelerate Next Gen means to accelerate the implementation of these initiatives in a way that does not add unintentional delays to other programs (or subordinate programs) within the NextGen initiatives. This has been referred to as "NowGen" which typically refers to issues that can be accomplished in the near term, within the current or next fiscal year. The Closely Spaced Parallel Operations (CSPO) effort identifies activities that are proposed for delivery starting in FY09/10 and continues till full implementation of all NextGen initiatives.
Scope Statement:
Utilize new concepts to implement Closely Spaced Parallel Operations to minimum runway spacing in instrument meteorological conditions while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.
