Flight Standards Safety Analysis Information Center (FSAIC)
- The Flight Standards Safety Analysis Information Center (FSAIC) analyzes safety data and provides risk assessment tools and techniques for all of Flight Standards Service, as well as external customers. The FSAIC also:
- Manages the Safety Performance Analysis System (SPAS) including user training, interpretation guidance, establishing requirements for new modules and performance measures, and evaluating the effectiveness of indicators.
- Manages the National Work Program Guidelines (NPG), focusing on new and special emphasis areas for required surveillance.
- Monitors, tracks, and analyzes all new segments of the aviation industry, including new entrant operators as defined in the FAA’s 90-day safety review. The FSAIC also develops analytical products and services used in initial carrier certification and recommends special in-depth inspections, based on observations and findings.
