The NextGen Branch enhances aviation safety and improves the capacity of the National Airspace System by implementing policies and procedures that enable the use of emerging technologies.

Our All Weather Operations Program Managers:

• Review requests for modification to airport standards
• Evaluate FAR 150 noise abatement studies
• Participate in Runway Incursion Action Teams
• Participate on Operational Evolution Plan (OEP) and various Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) work groups
• Evaluate proposed CAT II/III approaches and authority
• Process requests for Special Instrument Approach Procedures
• Review Obstruction Evaluation & Airport Airspace Analyses (OE/AAA) cases
• Approve Surface Movement and Guidance Control System (SMGCS) programs
• Evaluate low visibility Operations Specifications for approval
• Oversight of Unmanned Aerial System Operations
