FAA’s Southern region covers the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and the territory of Puerto Rico.
Flight Standards Southern Region promotes system safety by administering regulations and standards for airmen, air carriers, and air agencies in these areas:

- Surveillance
- Inspection
- Investigation
- Enforcement
Through the Aviation Safety Program, we also promote educational outreach efforts as a means of accident and incident prevention.
