Update for 2016
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plans to hire and train several thousand air traffic controllers over the next decade. FAA's controller workforce reached 14,143 in fiscal 2015. The FAA hired 1,345 new controllers in fiscal 2015, and has hired approximately 4,700 controllers over the last five years.
