Update for 2009
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is on schedule in its plan to hire and train nearly 15,000 air traffic controllers over the next decade. The FAA hired more than 2,100 controllers last year and expects to hire more than 1,700 in Fiscal Year 2009. The details are laid out in the updated Air Traffic Control Workforce Plan 2009–2018 (PDF).
