The flight simulation systems discipline is a constant emerging technical area.  This discipline is responsible for detailed technical analysis of simulators, including aircraft flight data and proposed modifications, to ensure all flight, engine, static and dynamic response parameters in ground and airborne maneuvering are in accordance with 14 CFR 121.

Flight simulation systems technologies involve: systems reliability, systems metrics, systems verification approaches, operating systems theory, systems assurance techniques, concurrent systems, real time computing systems, computer technology, mathematical proof of correctness, partitioning theory, and automated aircraft systems safety analysis and its application.
