Regulations applicable to changes in approved propeller designs
The certification procedures for propellers and propeller system parts are contained within 14 CFR part 21. Additional guidance can be found in the guidance titled, Change Product Rule (CPR). The airworthiness standards for changes to propellers and propeller system parts must show compliance to 14 CFR part 35.

  • Subpart D of part 21 provides approval procedures for changes to type certificates.
  • Subpart E of part 21 provides approval procedures for Supplemental Type Certificates.

Yes, there is a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) database.
