The standards for the identification of aircraft, aircraft engines and propellers that are manufactured under the terms of a type or production certificate are prescribed in 14 CFR, Part 45. This regulation also covers the identification of certain replacement and modified parts produced for installation on type certificated products.

The identification and marking requirements for aircraft propellers are presented in Part 45, section 45.11(b), and section 45.13(b) through (e), and section 45.15.
