What are the different types of production approvals?
There are four different types of production approvals:
- Production certificate.
- Approved production inspection system.
- Parts manufacturer approval.
- Technical standard order authorization.
Who may apply for a production certificate?
Any person may apply for a production certificate if that person holds, for the product concerned:
- A current type certificate.
- Rights to the benefits of that type certificate under a licensing agreement; or
- A supplemental type certificate
Are FAA production certificates transferable?
No. FAA production certificates are not transferable.
What is the duration of a production certificate?
The duration of a production certificate is until surrendered, suspended, revoked, or a termination date is otherwise established by the Administrator, or the location of the manufacturing facility is changed.
