Announces the availability of RTCA, Inc., Document RTCA/DO-221, Guidance and Recommended Requirements for Airport Surface Movement Sensors, dated April 24, 1994. Provides recommended minimum performance standards for airport surface movement sensors and specifies both sensor and system characteristics that provide guidance to airport systems designers, manufacturers, installers, and users of the equipment.

Cancels AC 150/5000-13, Announcement of Availability-RTCA Inc., Document RTCA-221, dated September 7, 1994.

Provides basic information on the characteristics, management, and regulations of industrial wastes generated at airports. Provides guidance for the development of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) that applies best management practices to eliminate, prevent, or reduce pollutants in storm water runoff associated with particular airport industrial activities.

Contains information, references and guidelines for construction of Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) station building design.

Provides guidance on airport related signs and graphics. Recommends use of 'Guidelines for Airport Signing and Graphics' (American Association of Airport Executives, the Airports Council International - North America, the Air Transport Association of America, and the Airport Consultants Council, 2001) in designing airport terminal signing systems until an updated manual, currently being developed under the Airport Cooperative Research Program, is available. At international airports, also recommends International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Document 9636, 'International Signs to Provide Guidance to Persons at Airports and Marine Terminals (1995)'.

Provides guidance in the design of systems for interactive training of airport personnel, which are eligible for funding under the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and with Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) revenues.

Provides guidance for reporting construction progress of projects under the Airport Improvement Program (AIP). Discusses use of FAA Form 5370-1, Construction Progress and Inspection Report.

Contains references to the minimum requirements for the selection and performance of aircraft rescue and firefighting personal protective equipment (PPE), self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and powered rescue tools. Designed to assist airport management in the development of local procurement specifications for airport fire departments.

Provides guidance on using value engineering (VE) in airport projects funded under the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) Airport Grant program.

Contains the specification for plug and receptacle (cable connectors) used with underground power cables, isolation transformer leads, and light fixture leads for airport lighting systems.

This advisory circular (AC) provides guidance to assist airport operators in developing a snow and ice control plan, conducting and reporting runway friction surveys, and establishing snow removal and control procedures. Version B of this AC cancelled AC 150/5220-13B, Runway Surface Condition Sensor Specification Guide, dated March 27, 1991. Consolidated file contains Change 1.

Contains specifications for the frangible connections used to support objects located in airfield safety areas, including fuse bolts, special material bolts, frangible couplings, tear-through fasteners, and tear-out sections.

This AC is based on the performance standards, specifications, and recommendations contained in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Aerodrome Design Manual, Part 6, Frangibility, and the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Engineering Technical Letter (ETL) 01-20: Guidelines for Airfield Frangibility Zones.

Contains FAA specifications for in-pavement and elevated light fixtures used on airport runways and taxiways, including Runway Status Lights (RWSL), Takeoff Hold Lights (THL), Runway Intersection Lights (RIL), and Runway Entrance Lights (REL). See also--

Provides the specifications for the collection of airport data for the FAA Airport Surveying – Geographic Information System (GIS) Program. Also explains how to submit data to the FAA, which will forward the safety critical data to the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) for independent verification and validation. The standards covered in this document provide critical information for the operation and safety of the National Airspace System (NAS) and are classified as critical by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). ICAO Annex 15 defines data as critical when “there is a high probability when using corrupted critical data that the continued safe flight and landing of an aircraft would be severely at risk with the potential for catastrophe.” The information furnished under these standards covers the entire spectrum of the FAA’s airport data requirements. Contains performance standards, specifications, and recommendations for DEVS equipment on Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles.

Provides guidance to the airport operator in the development and implementation of an Airport Emergency Plan (AEP). The AEP addresses essential emergency related and deliberate actions planned to ensure the safety of and emergency services for the airport populace and the community in which the airport is located.

Consolidated file includes Change 2 dated 11/3/2010. Change 2 updates the date by which AEPs must be submitted to June 30, 2011.

Provides information on courses and reference materials for training of Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) personnel.

Furnishes general guidance for airport employees, airport management, and other personnel responsible for aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) operations at the scene of an aircraft accident on the proper preservation of evidence.  It explains the need for preservation of evidence and details operational actions which may be permitted if performed in the interest of preserving life.

Provides information that airports can use to procure foreign object debris (FOD) detection equipment. Contains minimum performance specifications for systems and equipment that detect foreign objects on airports, including stationary radar, stationary electro-optical, stationary hybrid radar and electro-optical, and mobile radar.
