Series 150 Advisory Circulars (ACs) for Airport Projects

FAA accepts the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) document, Guidance on the Balanced Approach to Aircraft Noise Management, as additional guidance material.

Provides guidance on understanding and rating the surface condition of flexible and rigid airfield pavements and provides a simple system to visually rate pavement condition.

Provides guidance on Aircraft Fire Extinguishing Agents and provides an acceptable methodology for complying with Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 139, Certification of Airports.

Contains a specification for wind cone assemblies to be used to provide wind information to pilots of aircraft.

Provides methods for meeting the certification requirements specified in Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 139, Certification of Airports. This AC cancels AC 139/201-1, Airport Certification Manual (ACM) and Airport Certification Specifications (ACS).

Provides information to airport operators about airport self-inspection programs and identifies what should be included in such programs.

Announces the availability of two training programs on aircraft taxi procedures and tug and tow procedures, and also provides information about how to acquire these programs

Contains guidance to airport operators on developing ground vehicle operation training programs.

Describes the specification requirements for L-824 electrical cables.

Provides guidance on asphalt paving operations, including project organization, mix design, quality control, plant operations, laydown, and compaction.

The Handbook is included in the AC as Appendix 1. Because of its size, the Appendix has been broken up into several smaller files.

Assists airports in complying with the current laws and regulations governing individuals with disabilities by (1) identifying the relevant statutes and regulations that impact upon airports, (2) presenting in a single document the main features of each of the statutes and regulations, (3) providing legal citations to facilitate research, (4) listing sources of assistance or additional information, and (5) identifying Final Rules. It presents and reconciles the Federal accessibility regulations implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA); the Air Carrier Access Act of 1986 (ACAA); the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (RA); and the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968, as amended (ABA), which affect the architectural or program accessibility of airports in the U.S. transportation system and employment opportunities on these airports for individuals with disabilities.

Contains guidelines and procedures for the design and construction of skid-resistant pavement; pavement evaluation, without or with friction equipment; and maintenance of high skid-resistant pavements.

Provides guidance to assist operators in planning, designing, and constructing seaplane base facilities.

Announces availability of Guidelines for the Sound Insulation of Residences Exposed to Aircraft Operations. Updated file includes complete report.

Provides guidance to airport operators on the procurement of snow and ice control equipment for airport use.

Provides guidelines for the planning and design of airport terminal buildings and related access facilities. Consolidated file includes Change 1.
