Contains an expanded Table of Land Uses Normally Compatible with Various Levels of Noise.
Planning and Design Guidelines for Airport Terminal Facilities
Provides guidelines for the planning and design of airport terminal buildings and related access facilities. Consolidated file includes Change 1.
Note: Portions of this AC are under review for update. Please contact the National Planning and Environmental Division for assistance.
Because of the size of the document, it is available as one large file (see Complete) or as several smaller files (Part 1-4).
Airport Snow and Ice Control Equipment
Provides guidance to airport operators on the procurement of snow and ice control equipment for airport use.
Provides guidance to assist operators in planning, designing, and constructing seaplane base facilities.
Measurement, Construction, and Maintenance of Skid Resistant Airport Pavement Surfaces
Contains guidelines and procedures for the design and construction of skid-resistant pavement; pavement evaluation, without or with friction equipment; and maintenance of high skid-resistant pavements.
Access to Airports By Individuals With Disabilities
Assists airports in complying with the current laws and regulations governing individuals with disabilities by (1) identifying the relevant statutes and regulations that impact upon airports, (2) presenting in a single document the main features of each of the statutes and regulations, (3) providing legal citations to facilitate research, (4) listing sources of assistance or additional information, and (5) identifying Final Rules. It presents and reconciles the Federal accessibility regulations implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA); the Air Carrier Access Act of 1986 (ACAA); the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (RA); and the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968, as amended (ABA), which affect the architectural or program accessibility of airports in the U.S. transportation system and employment opportunities on these airports for individuals with disabilities.
Specification for L-824 Underground Electrical Cable for Airport Lighting Circuits
Describes the specification requirements for L-824 electrical cables.
Specification for Wind Cone Assemblies
Contains a specification for wind cone assemblies to be used to provide wind information to pilots of aircraft.
Airfield Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating Manuals
Provides guidance on understanding and rating the surface condition of flexible and rigid airfield pavements and provides a simple system to visually rate pavement condition.
Because of the size of this document, it is available as one complete file (see Complete) or as three smaller files (see Parts 1-3).
The Airport System Planning Process
Provides guidance for effective airport system planning.
Runway Length Requirements for Airport Design
Provides design standards and guidelines for determining recommended runway lengths.

Land Acquisition and Relocation Assistance for Airport Improvement Program Assisted Projects
Provides guidance to sponsors of airport projects developed under the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) to meet the requirements of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (PL 91-646, as amended) and the Regulations of the Office of the Secretary of Transportation, 49 CFR Part 24. Consolidated file contains Changes 1 through 6.
Airport Pavement Management Program
Discusses the Airport Pavement Management System (APMS) concept, its essential components, and how it can be used to make cost-effective decisions about pavement maintenance and rehabilitation.
Circuit Selector Switch
Contains a specification for a circuit selector switch for use in airport lighting circuits.
Surface Drainage Design
Provides guidance for engineers, airport managers, and the public in the design and maintenance of airport surface drainage systems. Combines existing surface drainage topics covered in different agency manuals into one Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) document that will serve as the design and analysis standard for surface drainage for FAA and the Department of Defense. Consolidated file contains Change 1.
Off-Peak Construction of Airport Pavements Using Hot-Mix Asphalt
Provides guidance for the planning, coordination, management, design, testing, inspection, and execution of off-peak construction of airport pavements using hot-mix asphalt (HMA) paving materials. Also focuses on HMA airfield pavement construction and applies to other types of airfield improvements where off-peak construction is identified as the preferred delivery method.
