Private and nonscheduled commercial flights overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior approval; however, a flight plan must be on file with ATC prior to arrival to provide advance notification. 2. Nonscheduled commercial flights landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior approval from the Director, Office of Civil Aviation (OAC) P.O. Box 87, Konedoba, N.C.D. Papua New Guinea (Telegraphic Address: PORT MORESBY AVSUP; Telex: NE 22156; AFTN: AYPYYA) at least 28 working days prior to departure. 3. Requests for approval must include: a. Name and address of operator. b. Type of aircraft and registration marks; aircraft weight and tire pressure. c. Dates and times of arrivals and departures from all airports in Papua New Guinea. d. Place(s) of embarkation/disembarkation of passengers/cargo. e. Purpose of flight, number of passengers, nature and weight of cargo. f. Name, address, and business of charterer, if any. g. Charter price. 4. Passport, visa, onward/return ticket and proof of sufficient funds required. Tourist and business visas for a stay of up to 60 days (extendible)
requires 1 application form, 1 photo, letter of invitation, and $256.25 fee. Business visas also requires letter of invitation from sponsoring company, bio-data, recent annual report of parent
company. AIDS other medical test required for work and residency permits; U.S. test accepted. Please provide SASE or prepaid air bill for return of documents. For longer stays and further
