Private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission; however, a flight plan must be on file. If munitions of war or dangerous goods are transported, prior permission by the Federal Ministry of the Interior is required. 2. Nonscheduled commercial flights landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission and an air route permit from the Federal Office of Civil Aviation, Schnirchgasse 11, A-1030 Wien, Austria, (TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: BUNDESLUFTAMT WIEN/TELEX: 11-4276 FAX: 011-43-1-79798-76). Applications must be submitted in duplicate on forms available from the Bundesamt: a. In case of single flights within Europe, at least 2 working days prior to departure. In the case of a series of flights, comprising not more than 4 flights within 2 consecutive calendar months, at least 4 weeks prior to departure of the first flight. b. In the case of single flights and a series of flights of not more than 4 flights within 2 consecutive calendar months, from and to non-European countries, at least 60 days prior to departure. c. In the case of a series of flights of more than 4 flights within the period of 2 consecutive months, no later than January 15 of the respective year for flights to be performed during the period beginning April 1 and ending October 31 of that year; and no later than September 1 of the respective year for flights to be performed during the period beginning November 1 of that year and ending March 31 of the following year. d. In the case of a series of cargo charter flights, of more than 4 flights within a period of 2 consecutive months, 6 weeks prior to the departure of the first flight. 3. Passport required. Visa not required for tourist stay of up to 90 days. (**90-day period begins when entering Schengen countries.) For information
