The categories of airports are:

M-Major

International airports of entry and departure where all formalities incident to Customs, Immigration, Health and similar procedures are carried out, and which are open to scheduled and nonscheduled flights.

R-Restricted

International airports of entry and departure at which the formalities incident to Customs, Immigration, Health and similar procedures are made available on a restricted basis, to flights with prior approval only.

A-Alternate

International airports specified in the flight plan to which a flight may proceed when it becomes inadvisable to land at the airport of intended landing.

N-Nonscheduled

International airports at which approval may be granted, provided the prescribed prior notice is given, for international nonscheduled flights only; no other form of international operation is permitted.

E-External

International airports of entry and departure for international air traffic located in an administered territory, where all formalities incident to Customs, Immigration, Health and similar procedures are available.

2. Further Entry Requirements

     1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior approval; however, a flight plan must be on file.

     2. All nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Director of Civil Aviation, St. John's, Antigua Island (Telegraphic Address: AIRCIVIL ANTIGUA; Telex: None) prior to departure. Requests must include all pertinent information concerning the flight.

     3. Passport or proof of U.S. citizenship, photo ID, and onward/return ticket required for, stay of up to 3 months. AIDS test required for persons seeking residency/study/work permits; U.S. tests results sometimes accepted. 4. Special Notices

     1. Overflying the Islands of St. Christopher and Nevis is prohibited except for landing and take-off. Flights over the city of Basseterre, St. Kitts, is prohibited except with the prior approval of the Governor, in writing.

     2. Customs and Immigration Services are available at Vance W. Amory International Airport (Nevis) and R.L. Bradshaw International Airport (St. Kitts) from 1000UTC (6:00 a.m. local) to 0100UTC (9:00 p.m. local) Daily. Other times by prior arrangement with Airport Authority.
