M-Major

International airports of entry and departure where all formalities incident to Customs, Immigration, Health and similar procedures are carried out, and which are open to scheduled and nonscheduled flights.

R-Restricted

International airports of entry and departure at which the formalities incident to Customs, Immigration, Health and similar procedures are made available on a restricted basis, to flights with prior approval only.

A-Alternate

International airports specified in the flight plan to which a flight may proceed when it becomes inadvisable to land at the airport of intended landing.

N-Nonscheduled

International airports at which approval may be granted, provided the prescribed prior notice is given, for international nonscheduled flights only; no other form of international operation is permitted.

E-External

International airports of entry and departure for international air traffic located in an administered territory, where all formalities incident to Customs, Immigration, Health and similar procedures are available.

2. Further Entry Requirements

1. All private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft overflying or landing for noncommercial purposes need not obtain prior permission.

2. All nonscheduled commercial aircraft landing for commercial purposes must obtain prior permission from the Director General of Civil Aviation, P.O. Box 90771. 2509 LT The Hague, Netherlands (Telegraphic Address: CIVILAIR THE HAGUE; Telex: 31435 RLD GV; Fax: 070-3516725; AFTN: EHGVYAX). Requests must be submitted at least 2 working days prior to departure in the case of a single flight or for a series of not more than 4 flights, or at least 30 days prior to departure for a series of more than 4 flights.

3. All requests must include:

a. Name and address of aircraft operator, including telex or telegraphic address, if any.

b. Complete route of flight.

c. Type and purpose of flight.

d. Name and address of charterer and consignor, including telex or telegraphic address, if any.

e. Registration marks and type of aircraft, seating capacity, number of passenger or travel groups traveling on each aircraft, cargo capacity and type and amount of cargo per consignor.

f. Price paid per passenger, rates applied for cargo, places or origin and destination of cargo.

g. Dates and times of arrival and departure in the Netherlands.

Note- Affinity Group, ABC, and Inclusive Tour Charter flights are subject to special regulation. Information concerning such flights may be obtained from The Director General of Aviation.

3. Corporate Aircraft Constraints

4. Special Notices

Pilots of private and nonscheduled commercial aircraft must report at the airport office upon arrival and immediately prior to departure.

Passport required. Visa not required for tourist/business visit of up to 90 days. (90-day period begins when entering Schengen countries.) Tourists may be asked to show onward/return ticket, proof of sufficient funds and health insurance coverage, and that there is adequate housing available for length of stay. Long-term visitors must register with the local police within 8 days of arrival. (No residency permits granted.)
