Pilots can advantage themselves of opportunities to become further educated about the Air Traffic system, and in specific, the Flight Service option.
Weather To Fly (Operation Takeoff) is a special seminar conducted by Flight Service. It explains features of the aviation weather system including new procedures, changes to current methods and/or procedures.
The Pilot Plug-In Program has been instituted at New York AIFSS. A pilot can actually plug-in with a pilot weather briefer to see what we do and how we do it. Learn about Flight Watch, the "now time weather" concept, flight planning, and much more.
Group Presentations are conducted by available members of the New York AIFSS staff. The presentations can include: utilizing the automated system, weather hazards, or anything else of interest.
Facility tours can be arranged by any interested parties. Our ability to provide tours is based upon our workload and the availability of personnel.
To help us give you or your group the best service possible, we ask that you call a few days ahead to arrange a pilot plug-in, group presentation, or facility tour.
