EUTELSAT W3 / Atlas IIAS

Lockheed Martin Corporation successfully launched an Atlas IIAS launch vehicle on April 12, 1999, at 6:50 p.m. EDT. The Atlas IIAS was launched from Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida and carried the EUTELSAT W3 satellite to geostationary transfer orbit. EUTELSAT W3 will deliver a full range of telecommunications and television services. The satellite includes 24 transponders, a fixed Widebeam over Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, steerable Spotbeams and a choice of 36 MHz and 72 MHz bandwidths.
