Lewis University, in partnership with American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, American Eagle Airline, Boeing International, Chicago Dept. of Aviation, Federal Aviation Administration Great Lakes Region, Chicago Air Traffic Control, Federal Express Airlines and Southwest Airlines hosted a unique opportunity to learn first-hand from "real world" aviation professionals. This annual conference is designed for anyone interested in a career in aviation.

Employees from the Great Lakes Regional Office, Chicago TRACON, Aurora Tower, and Chicago Executive Airport represented the FAA at the Lewis University Aviation Career Conference in Romeoville, IL. Approximately 600 high school and community college students attended the event to hear from professionals in the aviation industry.

U.S. Congressional Representative Dan Lipinski gave welcoming remarks and panel presentations were offered at three separate sessions through early afternoon. Dr. Marvin Jackson, Kathleen Mortensen, and Heather Monaghan-Manna, presented sessions representing the FAA Administration. Pam Brophy, Air Traffic Manager at Aurora IL control tower, Asia Hunter, Operations Manager at Palwaukee control Tower, and Andy May and Gary Saylors, air traffic controllers at Chicago TRACON, presented sessions for Air Traffic Control. Great Lakes region representatives, Gabriela Weimann and Monica Jaramillo, hosted an Aviation Information table on behalf of Human Resources along with Pam Brophy representing the Professional Woman's Controllers' organization. The annual career conference is highly anticipated and was a resounding success.
