Airplane pilots and mechanics bemoaning the winter weather can talk aviation and improve their knowledge at the Fall Aviation Safety Seminar Saturday, November 17 at the Loussac Library from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Though not held in a hangar, the seminar offers pilots a chance to be with top local pilots and learn about aviation programs such as the new runway at Merrill Field.

Topics include:

  • Merrill Field Changes
  • Ego or Risk Management
  • Maintenance – Defer it or Fix it?
  • Understanding Aircraft Systems
  • Learning from the Past

Among the speakers will be professional pilot Mike Vivian of the Alaska Aviation Safety Foundation. A panel of Federal Aviation Administration managers will be on hand to answer questions at a listening session at 11:30 a.m.
