November 26–WASHINGTON – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is encouraging air travelers to check with the airlines regarding the status of their flights and arrive at the airport early during the busy Thanksgiving holiday.
The agency is expecting a 1.5 percent increase in airline traffic over the Thanksgiving holiday, compared to the same period last year. Storms with possible snow, sleet and heavy rain are predicted for much of the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
Travelers can find information on airport status and delays at www.fly.faa.gov. Airport status information can also be found via mobile devices at www.faa.gov/mobile.
