The Alaska Industry Council is a joint FAA, Alaska Department of Transportation, and Alaska aviation industry group co-chaired by the SBS WSA office and aviation industry leaders. The goal of the council is for FAA, state, and industry leaders in Alaska to work together and share information on aviation-related safety initiatives for the state.

While the council is concerned with the ADS-B deployment in Alaska, it also looks at many other aviation projects beyond the scope of the SBS WSA office. Frequent topics include the statewide expansion of ADS-B, airport upgrades from Visual Flight Rules to Instrument Flight Rules, the installation of Radio Communications Outlets, the Wide Area Multilateration project in Juneau, the Wide Area Augmentation System, and Performance-Based Navigation.

The council meets the second Wednesday of the month, every two months.
