The Atlantic Interoperability Initiative to Reduce Emissions (AIRE) is a cooperative agreement between the US FAA and the European Commission to promote and harmonize environmental initiatives and procedures in European and North American airspace. In the United States, AIRE is coordinated by the FAA Office of Advanced Technology Development and Prototyping as part of the NextGen International Air Traffic Interoperability Program (IATI).
