Handbook for Identification of Alkali-Silica Reactivity in Airfield Pavements
Provides guidance on understanding, identifying, preventing, and mitigating alkali-silica reactivity (ASR) in fresh and hardened Portland cement concrete airfield pavements. Version A deletes Chapter 8 of Appendix 1 to remove all reference to the dilatometer test protocol. The test protocol may be reinstated when fully developed.

Guidelines for Design Approval of Aircraft Data Communications Systems
a. The guidance in this advisory circular (AC) provides one acceptable means of compliance, but not the only means, for type design approval of aircraft that have a data link system installed.
b. Use the guidance in this AC to gain approval for type certificates (TC) and supplemental type certificates (STC) involving aircraft data link systems intended to support air traffic services. This AC will standardize these approvals among the aircraft certification offices (ACOs) in their assessment of aircraft data link systems for design approval.
c. This AC was developed in consideration of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annexes and guidance material, RTCA Inc. documents (RTCA DO) and European Organization for Civil Aviation Equipment documents (EUROCAE ED). It is based on published safety and performance (SPR) standards and interoperability (INTEROP) standards for data link systems in different types of operating environments.
d. This AC is not mandatory and does not constitute a regulation. It is issued to provide guidelines and to outline a means of showing that an aircraft data link system complies with airworthiness requirements.
e. This AC provides airworthiness requirements for the type design approval of aircraft with a data link system installed. It identifies specific configurations of aircraft data link systems intended for air traffic services in order to facilitate operational approvals for aircraft that comply with this AC. AC 120-70A, Operational Authorization Process for Use of Data Link Communication System, or latest revision provides guidelines for the operational authorization needed to use the data link capability. Airworthiness Approval of Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS B) Out Equipment for Operation in the National Airspace System (NAS)
a. This AC provides guidance for the installation and airworthiness approval of Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS?B) Out equipment in aircraft.
c. This AC is primarily intended for installations compliant with 14 CFR § 91.227. Airworthiness compliance will be evaluated based on the applicable intended function rule (e.g., 14 CFR §§ 23.1301, 25.1301, 27.1301, 29.1301) recognizing that the intended function is to meet the equipment requirements in 14 CFR § 91.227. It is possible to receive airworthiness approval for your ADS-B Out system without demonstrating that it complies with 14 CFR § 91.227, however we strongly discourage this type of installation unless the installation is in accordance with the criteria for ADS-B Out in foreign non-radar airspace (e.g., Approved Means of Compliance (AMC) 20?24). Applicants using this AC to install ADS?B systems that are not compliant with 14 CFR § 91.227 must follow all aspects of this AC and propose alternate means as necessary to the FAA.Date Cancelled: 11-07-2012
Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996
This advisory circular (AC) provides information that may be used to comply with the provisions of Title 49 of the United States Code (49 U.S.C.) § 44703(h), (i), and (j). This law is commonly referred to as the Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA) of 1996. PRIA requires the gathering and sharing of information relating to a pilot/applicant’s qualification and safety background. An air carrier or air operator is required to request those records so it can make an informed decision before hiring a pilot/applicant. Incorporation of Electrical Wiring interconnection Systems Instructions for Continued Airworthiness into and Operator's Maintenance Program.
On November 8, 2007, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) published the Enhanced Airworthiness Program for Airplane Systems/Fuel Tank Safety (EAPAS/FTS) final rule. The intent of the rule is to help ensure the continued safety of commercial airplanes by improving the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical wiring systems. Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 121, § 121.1111, and part 129, § 129.111 include requirements for operators to revise their maintenance programs to include instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA), which include inspections and procedures for the electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS). This advisory circular (AC) only addresses the EWIS requirements and provides guidance accordingly. The current edition of AC 120-97, Incorporation of Fuel Tank System Instructions for Continued Airworthiness into Operator Maintenance or Inspection Programs, provides guidance for operators to comply with the fuel tank safety (FTS) requirements in the EAPAS/FTS rule.Date Cancelled: 09-12-2012

This advisory circular (AC) provides guidance material for the airworthiness approval of installed positioning and navigation equipment. Positioning and navigation equipment may be used for a variety of functions such as navigation, automatic dependent surveillance, and/or terrain awareness and warning systems. This AC addresses the following avionics:
Global positioning system (GPS) equipment including those using GPS augmentations.
Area navigation (RNAV) equipment integrating data from multiple navigation sensors.
RNAV equipment intended for required navigation performance (RNP) operations.
Barometric vertical navigation (baro-VNAV) equipment.

Flight Standards Service Schedule of Charges Outside the United States
This advisory circular (AC) transmits an updated schedule of charges for services of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Flight Standards Service (AFS) aviation safety inspectors (ASI) outside the United States. Rulemaking action to Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 187, Docket No. 27809 and Notice 94-24, Fees for Certification Services and Approvals Performed Outside the United States, established the methodology for determining these charges. This advisory circular (AC) provides guidelines that industry may use to develop and revise the minimum scheduled interval/tasking requirements for derivative or newly type-certificated aircraft and powerplants for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval. This AC refers to these minimum scheduled interval/tasking requirements as the Maintenance Review Board Report (MRBR), Maintenance Type Board. After FAA approval, the requirements become a basis upon which operators develop their own individual maintenance programs. The report will become a living report for each type-certificate holder.
Use this AC to standardize development, implementation, and update of FAA-approved minimum scheduled maintenance/inspection requirements.

Flight Test Guide for Certification of Transport Category Airplanes
This advisory circular (AC) provides guidance for the flight test evaluation of transport category airplanes. This AC includes flight test methods and procedures to show compliance with the regulations contained in subpart B of Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 25, which address airplane performance and handling characteristics. Part 25 has been amended significantly since the last revision of this AC and, likewise, guidance and policy have changed in many areas as experience has been gained. During this time period, technology has advanced as well, resulting in a need for new or modified test techniques. This revision, AC 25-7B, adds acceptable means of compliance for the regulatory changes associated with amendments 108, 109, and 115 to part 25, and a revised means of compliance for expansion of takeoff and landing data for higher airport elevations. Standardized Method of Reporting Airport Pavement Strength - PCN
Provides guidance for using the standardized International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) method, called the Aircraft Classification Number – Pavement Classification Number (ACN-PCN) method, to report airport runway, taxiway, and apron pavement strength. Includes instructions for using the COMFAA program to calculate ACN values to determine PCN.
Also provides guidance for reporting changes to airport data that is generally published on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Form 5010, Airport Master Record, particularly those data elements associated with Gross Weight (Data Elements 35 through 38) and Pavement Classification Number (Data Element 39).
