The FAA Certificated Aviation Maintenance Technician Schools on the website meet the requirements of part 147, subpart B, Certification Requirements, for the ratings issued. FAA certification does not necessarily mean universities will extend college credit nor does it indicate approval by other states or federal agencies.

FAA Approval of Basic Aviation Training Devices (BATD) and Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD)
This advisory circular (AC) provides information and guidance for Aviation Training Device (ATD) manufacturers seeking Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval of basic aviation training devices (BATD) or advanced aviation training devices (AATD) under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 61, § 61.4(c). This AC also provides information and guidance for those persons who intend to use a BATD or AATD for activities involving pilot training or certification, other than for aircraft type specific training or for an aircraft type rating. This advisory circular (AC) describes the scope and content of air carrier aircraft maintenance programs. It explains the background of these programs as well as the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) regulatory requirements. Each of the 10 elements of air carrier maintenance programs are also described and explained. In this AC, air carrier maintenance means inspection, overhaul, repair, preservation, and the replacement of parts, as well as preventive maintenance. Standards For Airport Sign Systems
Contains the Federal Aviation Administration standards for the siting and installation of signs on airport runways and taxiways. Incorporates mandatory hold signs that reflect changed standards for the Precision Obstacle Free Zone (POFZ) and Category (CAT II/III) operations. Airport Signing and Graphics
