Provides a suggested means of compliance with the FAR regarding the evaluation and qualification of helicopter simulators to be used in training and checking

This advisory circular (AC) provides information that may be used to comply with the provisions of Title 49 of the United States Code (49 U.S.C.) § 44703(h), (i), and (j). This law is commonly referred to as the Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA) of 1996. PRIA requires the gathering and sharing of information relating to a pilot/applicant’s qualification and safety background. An air carrier or air operator is required to request those records so it can make an informed decision before hiring a pilot/applicant. PRIA shall apply to any hiring air carrier or air operator whether the pilot is hired directly or by contract. (See paragraph 1-4c.)

Provides an acceptable means, but not the only means, for operational approval to use digital communication systems, including data link and voice communications (e.g. via satellite), for air traffic service (ATS) and related capabilities for operators conducting operations under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), parts 121, 125, 129, and 135.

Provides guidelines for the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for conducting safe aircraft operations during taxiing. It is intended for use by persons operating aircraft under parts 121, 125, and 135 (those part 135 flight operations where two or more pilots are in the cockpit) of Title 14 CFR.

This joint Flight Standards and Aircraft Certification Service AC provides an acceptable method of compliance for the certification, airworthiness, and operational approval of both portable and installed electronic flight bag (EFB) aircraft computing devices.

Provides information on how to implement a continuing analysis and surveillance system (CASS), which is required for certain types of air carriers and commercial operators under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), §§ 121.373 and 135.431. A CASS is a quality management system for air carriers and commercial operators that monitors and analyzes the performance and effectiveness of inspection and maintenance programs

The purpose AC provides general information and acceptable methods compliance for the certification, airworthiness, and operational approval of certain aircraft surveillance systems and selected associated aviation applications.

Provides information and practices regarding the use of Child Restraint Systems (CRS) on aircraft. It is intended to be used as resource during the development, implementation and revision of aircraft operator procedures and training programs regarding the use of CRS.

Introduces the concept of a safety management system (SMS) to aviation service providers.

This advisory circular provides information and describes an acceptable means of complance of operators to comply with the fuel tank flammabiluty safety requirements fof parts 121, 125, 129 and 14 CFR as amended by the 2008 fuel tank flammability reduction rule.

 On November 8, 2007, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) published the Enhanced Airworthiness Program for Airplane Systems/Fuel Tank Safety (EAPAS/FTS) final rule. The intent of the rule is to help ensure the continued safety of commercial airplanes by improving the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical wiring systems. Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 121, § 121.1111, and part 129, § 129.111 include requirements for operators to revise their maintenance programs to include instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA), which include inspections and procedures for the electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS). This advisory circular (AC) only addresses the EWIS requirements and provides guidance accordingly. The current edition of AC 120-97, Incorporation of Fuel Tank System Instructions for Continued Airworthiness into Operator Maintenance or Inspection Programs, provides guidance for operators to comply with the fuel tank safety (FTS) requirements in the EAPAS/FTS rule.

This Advisory Circular establishes guideline for U.S. operator to use when reviewing Foreign Terminal instrument Procedures ( FTIPs)

States an acceptable means, not the only means, of compliance with the referenced sections of the FAR as they apply to persons operating under Parts 121 or 123 who desire approval of Doppler RADAR navigation systems or Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for use in their operations.
